It is the largest
permanent lake
in Slovenia
located within
the Bohinj valley,
in the Julian Alps.
4.2 km long and
1 km at its maximum width,
this glacial lake
is naturally dammed
by a moraine,
a glacially formed accumulation
of unconsolidated glacial debris.
